Ingredients

  • 4 fresh oranges medium to large
  • 1 teaspoons sugar or honey optional
  • ½ cup cold water optional
  • Ice cubes

Method

  1. Choose and prepare oranges

Select fresh, juicy oranges. Wash them thoroughly and cut each one in half.
  2. Extract the juice

Use a manual juicer, citrus press, or your hands to squeeze out all the juice into a bowl or jug.
  3. Strain (optional)

Strain the juice using a sieve if you prefer a smoother texture without pulp.
  4. Adjust flavor

Taste the juice. Add sugar or honey if needed. Add cold water if you prefer a lighter taste. Mix well.
  5. Chill and serve

Pour the juice over ice cubes, stir, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Pick oranges that feel heavy. That’s usually a sign they’re actually juicy and not just looking good from the outside.
  • Don’t rush to add sugar. Taste first. Some oranges are naturally sweet enough.
  • Add a tiny pinch of salt. It sounds weird, but it balances the sweetness really well.
  • Don’t over-squeeze aggressively. That’s how you get bitterness from the white pith.
